What is xerophthalmia (night blindness)?
Xerophthalmia is an eye disease caused by vitamin A deficiency. A lack of vitamin A in the body can dry out the tear ducts in the eyes. The symptoms of xerophthalmia start mild, then worsen if a vitamin A deficiency isn’t treated.
